How much is enough? That is such an interesting question.
The store promotes Vitamin Cs tablets, multi-vitamins, calcium tablets, omega 3-6-9 etc. Hmm... should we just forget about food and pop pills? The pill popping culture reminds me that our body is just a machine and the food our gasoline and lubricants. Without a right mix, the machine does not function as well.
Lesson 1 - Recommended Dietary Allowance
Though the requirements may vary from person to person, this is the amount that they have found out to satisfy the requirements of 97-98% of the individuals in that age range and gender group.

The Decision
My boss used to tease me that I enjoyed food too much and I would disagree with him. But come to think of it, his observation is quite true.
I remembered the food that I have tasted and some of the taste still lingered in my mouth. Its always the grains and vegetable dishes that I remembered... such as the kasha porridge in Russia, not the blini with caviar, the sweet grains beans dessert from Vietnam, not the pho, the brown rice onigiri and tamago I had in Japan. Such sweet fragrance from nature.
Though I enjoyed the food, my best dish is chinese spring roll. The vegetables dishes that I stir-fried are simply too bland for comfort. It is not healthy to add too much salt, and I will steam the fish instead of frying it cos it is a healthier option. I am not going to ruin my health for taste! So it is a natural option that I turned vegetarian, craving for the nature's fragrance.
When I made the decision to be vegetarian, I was hale and healthy, could cycle long distance and I could do halasanas and chakrasans. But a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. 2 years into the vegetarian diet with no proper knowledge, I started developing bloatedness. According to Blood Type Diet, O+ cannot be vegetarians! Some recommended Protein Powder and some recommended fasting, some cleansing! I tried all! The interesting thing that came out of this whole exercise is that I learnt that our food is our medicine.
That really interests me. Such important knowledge that is not drilled into us. So I made the decision. Let's get some formal training in this.
